Every August, around 150 new students join AISB. This page will help you understand what to expect during your first few weeks with us.
Getting onto campus
Badges
Everyone entering campus needs a school badge. Please submit HERE a passport-style photo for your school PARENT badge. To ensure your badges are printed and ready for collection on orientation day, please submit your photos by Monday, August 10th. Should you send your photos after this date, kindly note that your badges will be ready after August 18th, and our reception will reach out to you to invite you to pick up your badges.
Parking Sticker
After Orientation Day, if you would like to drive onto campus, you will need a parking pass, also known as a parking sticker. These stickers will ensure that the guards know they can allow you to enter and park on campus.
Entrance is not allowed on campus without a valid parking sticker. Please fill in the form below and bring it to the Reception Desk, where you will receive the car sticker.

School meals
Our campus offers two main dining experiences on-site: the Stradale Cafeteria, which serves daily lunches to students across all sections, and Mitzu coffee shops, a convenient stop for older students, staff and families. Both operate using your child’s meal account. You can set up an account through the simple online system or consult the Stradale brochure. The Stradale team will also be present at Orientation to assist you with registration.
Additionally, we are pleased to let you know that morning snacks in the Early Childhood and Elementary School are fully covered by the school’s tuition fee.

Transport
Students travel to school via parent drop-off, on foot with parental permission, or by school bus. Bus transportation is managed by an external provider, Excelsior Tour. Representatives from Excelsior Tour will be present at Orientation to answer questions and assist with registration, or you may contact them directly to arrange service: excelsior.tour@gmail.com.

Campus Driving Code of Conduct
The safety of our students, families, and staff is our top priority. To keep our campus secure and traffic flowing smoothly, every driver is asked to follow these simple guidelines, covering access, speed, drop-off and pick-up, parking, and respectful conduct. A few moments of care behind the wheel make a real difference, especially around children who may not always be predictable. Please take a moment to review the rules below, and thank you for helping make AISB a safe place for everyone.

School Store
The Vampires store is located in the main campus Reception area, and it will be open during the Orientation Day and also when the school starts.
Elementary School Students:
- Mandatory Vampires PE shirts & shorts;
- Mandatory Library bag;
They can also purchase the optional Vampires water bottles, sun hats, etc.
Secondary School Students:
- Mandatory Vampires Shirt;
- School Supplies;
- Grade 9 Onwards: Science Calculators (Price: 800 lei)

The Store will be open starting with the first day of school, and working hours are from 8:00-10:00 am and from 2:00-15:30 pm. Parents can also visit the store outside this timeline by scheduling an appointment with Alexandra Stoian at astoian@goaisb.ro

If your child is in grades 5 to 12, they need to bring their own laptop.

Your first semester

Before August
The admissions team sends everything you need: badge photos, supply lists, platform logins, and Orientation Day details. Your AISB&Co country liaison gets in touch.

Orientation Day
Campus tour, badge collection, cafeteria sign-up, bus registration, Vampires Store. Your child meets their teachers. You meet the families arriving alongside you.

First week
Your child’s teacher and the pastoral team are watching out for them. If your child is new to English, EAL support starts immediately. You will start getting updates through Toddle or Seesaw.

September
Coffee Mornings begin. AISB&Co events start up. Co-curricular sign-ups open. The Terry Fox Run brings the whole community together for the first time.

By October
The Weekly Buzz is part of your Friday. Your child is settling in. You are starting to find yours. The school feels like school.
Once you are settled, the Current Families hub has everything you need going forward, calendar, contacts, policies, and more.

How we stay in touch

Each section has an administrative assistant available during school hours (Mon–Fri, 7:30am–4:00pm). Reception: +40 21 204 4300.
Email is the primary communication method. Make sure the school has your current address, all key information comes this way.
Learning management platforms with your child’s schedule, units, assessment tasks, work samples, and teacher feedback. Account details and setup instructions are shared before the school year starts.
The school newsletter, sent to all parents every Friday.
Monthly sessions with the School Director, plus section-specific coffee mornings. Dates are announced in the first newsletters of the year.
Follow AISB on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn for updates and stories from the community.
Many year-level and class communities run WhatsApp groups for quick, informal parent communication. These are parent-led. Your AISB&Co country liaison or class rep will add you once the year starts.

Mother Tongue Classes
There are over 30 native languages spoken at AISB. Almost half of them are taught as Mother Tongue courses and you can see information about these HERE.
If you are interested in these programs, please contact the appropriate coordinator (see linked form).
Co-curricular Activities
Elementary students have their own CCA program across a similar range. Details and sign-up information are shared at the start of the school year.
Before joining Vampire Athletics and regular training, we recommend your child completes an ECG to ensure they’re safe to compete. A doctor should review the results, then sign and stamp the attached AISB form. The certificate is valid for the current school year only.
Please submit the completed form by hard copy to the medical office.

AISB&Co is your way into the parent community. Every parent at AISB is automatically a member. It is a space to connect, volunteer, and help shape school life: performing arts support, country liaisons, family event planning, and more. Your country liaison will be one of the first people to reach out before you arrive.

Common questions from new families.
You will meet teachers, tour the campus, pick up school badges, and set up the practicalities, cafeteria, bus, store. By the time the first real school day arrives, your child will already know where to go.

The EAL program supports English language development from day one. Mother tongue classes are also available to maintain your child’s home language alongside their English.
Excelsior Tour provides the service and will be at Orientation to help you get set up. Contact them directly for routes, schedules, and pricing.
Orientation Day is the starting point. After that: AISB&Co, Coffee Mornings, and the Terry Fox Run in September. The Weekly Buzz keeps you posted on what is coming up.
No full uniform. Students wear their own clothes. The only mandatory items are the Vampires PE shirt and shorts for physical education, available at the Vampires Store on campus.
Grades 5–12 need their own Mac. Used MacBooks are accepted if they are under two years old.
