The story behind our mission
Most school mission statements are written by leadership teams behind closed doors. This one was written by students.
In a series of workshops, students from across the school put into words what AISB means to them and what they want it to become. They wrote the mission for their school. It was a special experience for all involved.
And it connects to something greater: AISB has been here since 1962. It has survived an earthquake, an authoritarian regime, and a revolution that left the building riddled with bullet holes. Each time, the community found a way back.
We dare to ask what if? We dare to try something we never thought we would be good at. We dare to keep going when it gets tricky. We dare to build what we can imagine.
Our campus is a safe space for bold ideas. Our teachers push us to go further than we thought we could and to do something with what we learn.
We show up for each other every day. We say hi first. We cheer the loudest. We show up to make our school feel like home.
Our school is an international community of joy, belonging and kindness. We lift each other up, respect different points of view, and listen to each other’s stories.
