About Rachel
Experience
Rachel Caldwell is an Irish citizen who was raised and educated in the United Kingdom.
She has been working in the education field for over 30 years, beginning in inner city London and later moving on to teach in multiple countries including
the Dominican Republic, Turkey, Italy, China, South Africa, Ukraine, and now in Romania.
Rachel was a very active IB workshop leader, school visitor, and field representative between 2005-2013, where she collaborated on in-school,
in-cooperation, and regional workshops throughout Europe, Africa, The Middle East, and Asia. She continues to serve the IB as an Evaluation Team
Leader.
Learning
Rachel’s passion for teaching and learning is steadfast. She is particularly interested in inquiry-based learning, multilingualism, inclusion, and governance.
Regarding her approach to education Rachel’s shares her belief that schools should empower students and the community through the provision of
relevant and authentic experiences, and through a focus on personalised learning. She values the arts and has supported and implemented many diverse
arts initiatives in her previous schools, such as community art exhibitions, working with local art centres, Shakespeare and rock band competitions, student
workshops with local artists,and whole school flash mobs.
Her core values as a director include integrity, learning, empathy, joy and a strong work ethic.
Rachel is a wife and mother who enjoys traveling, reading, dancing, walking, eating her husband’s delicious meals, and spending quality time with friends
and family.
