About Peter
Peter Welch hails from Nottingham in the UK. He has spent his career working in educational institutions all over the world. After studying history at Cambridge University, he worked first as a voluntary English teacher in Lesotho and then in Ghana in Africa. He taught History and English in the UK before moving overseas. He has been the Director of IB World Schools in Thailand, Turkey, and Finland, and now is proud to be the Director of AISB in Romania. He has been in this role since 2019.
He believes in developing the capacity of others, inspiring new and ethical thinking in our students, and encouraging international schools to take on different cultural perspectives to be truly globally minded.
Peter has written and presented extensively on how we live, learn, and communicate across cultures. He is the author of the book ‘Who on Earth Are You? How to Thrive in a Mixed-Up World’.
