Melanie Kempe joined AISB in 2021 as an MYP/DP English teacher and was excited to be moving back into a leadership role as the MYP Coordinator role and, starting this year, the Secondary School Principal. Melanie has spent the last 16 years as an international educator working in secondary schools with a variety of roles that include being a teacher, grade level leader, department head, coordinator, and Director of Teaching and Learning.
Melanie grew up in Calgary, Canada and received her BA in Sociology from Queens, followed by a BA in Education, before completing an MA in International Education from Framingham State University. She is married to Mr. Moore, an MYP/DP math teacher, and they have two children together: Kaylex and Braxton.
Melanie is passionate about creating connections between people and takes pride in being part of an inclusive community that values student agency and an inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning.
