About David

David Hughes has spent the last seven years at AISB, coordinating the athletics and activities department before moving into this new role as Middle School Vice-Principal. He has spent the last 18 years in education working in primary schools as a classroom teacher and in secondary schools as PE teacher. David has a BEd from Bangor University in Wales, the country that he originates from. He is married to Ms. Hughes, the PYP coordinator, and they have two children together; Mara and Henry. David feels a deep connection to Romania, having lived here for 11 years. He is proud to say that he has represented the country in cricket, a sport that he loves!

I am so thankful to support and learn alongside students every day. Having the opportunity to be a part of AISB’s Middle School, and champion all aspects of the student’s school life is something that excites me greatly!
