Our Co-curricular program is designed to complement and build on our curricular program. We pride ourselves on offering a balanced program to support the needs, interests and  passions of our students. At the core of our program is providing the training and support to develop our student leaders to be actively involved in taking leadership roles  within our Co-curricular program.

Athletics & Activities

At AISB, we believe that activities outside of school play an important role in the development of our students. The Co-curricular Activities Program provides a wide variety of activities suited to our student’s interests and abilities, above and beyond the regular school day. This program is designed for the benefit and well being of all of our students, as well as to build a sense of school community and school spirit.

Service Learning

The Service Learning program has made gigantic leaps forward over the years, with amazing Service Learning experiences for and by the students in the Secondary School.

In 6th and 7th grade, students work within their advisory groups on 3 different Service projects, to introduce them to the 4 types of Service Learning and the Service Learning design cycle. Their experiences include planning a Halloween game for the Elementary School, supporting a High School service group, and raising awareness of prisoners of conscience.

Mother Tongue Programs

One of the ways to foster international education is by nurturing and stimulating high-level mother tongue proficiency.   At AISB we believe it is essential to maintain and encourage the development of our students’ mother tongue, since it supports further language acquisition, helps students develop personal identity and addresses many social, emotional and academic needs. The mother tongue program gives students the opportunity to have more learning experiences, to develop academic language, add to their knowledge, grow and share ideas, and establish strong relationships.
