The American International School of Bucharest (AISB) is a not-for-profit, non-sectarian, independent school for children ages 2-19. It was established in 1962 by the United States Embassy from which it obtains legal and operational support. The US Embassy’s Deputy Chief of Mission normally serves as the Chair of the School Board.
AISB serves the educational needs of expatriate and Romanian children who seek an international education. Current enrollment is over 850 students from 56 countries.
